It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything to my blog, but as of today, my hiatus is over! Recently I received my first VoxBox from Influenster, which contained a few wonderful goodies that I’ve had a wonderful time using for review.
What’s Inside the Box?
- Schwarzkopf Professional OSiS+ Rough Rubber Paste
- Tastykake Kandy Bar Kakes
- Secret Outlast Clear Gel
- NYC New York Color Applelicious Glossy Lip Balm
- Broadway Nails imPRESS Press-on Manicure
While I have tried and been using the other products in the box, I decided that my most liked product and the one that I could review best is the imPRESS press-on manicure nails.
My first impression was a bit leery, like, “Press-on nails? I haven’t had those since early grade school.” But I didn’t allow that to deter me from trying them out and giving them an honest chance.
The design I had was like a lace overlay on top of a metallic lavender/pink color and the nails were quite short for my preference. I do wish they could have been longer as some of my nails were slightly longer than the press-ons. Upon the initial placement of the nails, which are secured by a very strong sticky adhesive gel pad, they were very sturdy and appeared realistic (aside from the thickness when you look from the top of the fingertips). They did not last a week. In the first couple of days the nails became flimsy and bent easily, the color also began to wear off. Although there were obvious signs of premature wear and tear, the nails were still very secure to the beds of my natural nails.
Essentially these could work for people who aren’t busy with their hands a lot. I am, so they weren’t that great a fit for me. I do like that they don’t look extremely fake and that they come in various colors and designs. Not to mention they’re inexpensive!
